Hello. I have made my own NSWGR Locos & rolling stock for 50 years, mentored by Shepherd and Goddard I fabricate out of sheet tin and use ETS chassis for power. My railway has been built on a shoestring and I get the feeling that “7th Heaven” is feeling the “superannuation pulse” and not striving to educate others but sell expensive imported “goodies”.
I may be wrong. However my model Loco education never had a price on it.
A late friend left me a 19 class and 59 class Loco. Horrendously expensive and made out of the thinnest brass sheet , they are not meant to run but hide behind glass, I am glad I always made my own because I was not wealthy. Ron Fox is my friend and what he has made may not be from thin prototypical brass sheet but it’s affordable and all the details you can see ( naked eye stuff) is there. His prices were reasonable & affordable and are now ….collectable!
I was running your 59 class on my layout yesterday and wondered how the $4000 RTR price was justified, except in profit from some wise investors.
You should consider embracing the “do it yourself” fellow who is not wealthy. But he will not give you the profits you realise can be made from the wealthy modeller who builds nothing.
This is for the wealthy man. Try making your models out of galvanized tin with ETS ( CZ) mechanisms. Cheap, and effective.
Their driving units have 5 pole motors and are two rail 1.5mm flange wheels. I have been using them for some 49 years. No problems.
